| The
village of Boquerón is situated 60 km from the city of Comitán, 25 km
of which are unpaved roads in |
| good
condition. Its residents are provisional agriculturalists. There is no
local potable water source; water is |
| channeled
through pipes from the municipality. Houses are constructed of the
following: some of lumber, |
| others of
brick, and others of stucco with roofs of zinc sheet metal. There is
electric light in the village and |
|
semi-trucks can enter. The climate is warm and its approximate
altitude is 600 meters above sea level. |
|
Following
the example of our Lord Jesus Christ, whose care for people extended
even to |
|
their
nutritional needs, our principal goal is to assist families with
gaining household income |
|
Goals: |
and to
help them achieve better nourishment in order to combat malnutrition
which is |
|
currently
prevalent in the majority of the infant population. Furthermore, we
hope that this |
|
project
will help fathers avoid the necessity of emigrating from their homes
and places of |
|
origin in
search of economic alternatives. |
